When someone’s teeth don’t fit their face, it’s noticeable. Typically, the wrong size teeth are the result of poorly fitted dentures or veneers.
Celebs are sometimes the worst offenders when it comes to ill-fitting veneers. Hilary Duff’s teeth are too big and too long for her mouth and face. American Idol’s Elliot Yamin now has a super-obvious mouthful of veneers – and they don’t exactly look authentic.
Well-done porcelain veneers are barely noticeable. Properly fitted veneers will have acquaintances wondering, when they see you after some time, “There’s something different about him. What is it?” And that’s the right reaction. You want your smile to look better, but it shouldn’t change your face completely. Cosmetic dentistry is meant to enhance your features; the veneers you get should look natural.
