Sweets Can Frighten Your Smile

Stocking up on Halloween candy? If you’re experiencing dental issues and feeling less than satisfied with your smile, all those years of trick-or-treating may have finally caught up with you.
Halloween candy comes in all shapes, sizes, flavors, and assortments – chocolate, sweet, fruity, sour. They’re all delectable vices. But according to a study in the journal of Nature Neuroscience, junk food doesn’t satisfy cravings – it creates them. Every October, candy addicts are cropping up around the world, and that’s not helpful for anyone whose smile is already suffering.
All that October deliciousness can seriously harm your already compromised dental health. A recent report found that about 25 percent of adults aged 35 to 59 have untreated tooth decay. If you’re embarrassed by the state of your teeth and gums, don’t be! Inaction is the only thing that you need to worry about. At Houston’s Smile Texas, we have seen it all, and then some – no case is more or less important than the last, and it doesn’t matter to us if your candy habit or bad genes are the cause.
If your dental health needs some cleaning up before your Smile Makeover can officially occur, Smile Texas can make it happen. Just look at all the happy faces in our Smile Gallery. Not a ghost or goblin to be found.
A Halloween tip: To avoid overindulging in the tricks and treats, only buy and hand out candy that you find unappealing!
