The Success Rate of Dental Implants
- Posted on: Jul 13 2011
Want strong teeth and a smile with longevity? According to a study published in The International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants, dental implants have an extremely high success rate – about 95 percent. With proper care of your teeth and gums, your implants and new teeth can last for a very long time.
Dental implants are small, titanium posts that are placed into the jawbone. It’s important that the foundation for these implants is healthy, so if you have any gum disease or other oral health concerns, those will need to be addressed first. Once the implants are in place, replacement teeth – custom-made to suit your mouth and complement your face – are attached to the implant.
At Smile Texas, we do our part to make sure that your implants are properly placed – it’s up to you to take care of them with bi-annual cleanings. But we have no doubt that you’ll put your smile first once you receive such a solid, beautiful, natural-looking Smile Makeover. Recipients of dental implants, however, might say that the best part of their restoration is that they have regained biting and chewing power – bring on the steak, crunchy veggies, and more!
This dental implant video series featuring Smile Texas’ Dr. Rick Kline explains dental implants in greater detail, including how the procedure is carried out and featuring success stories with before and after photos.
