Maximize Your Dental Insurance

Do you participate in a health savings plan? Have you used your dental insurance to its full potential this year? Before the fiscal year is up, make sure you maximize your insurance benefits.

While cosmetic dentistry may not typically be an area that is covered by dental insurance, there are exceptions to the rule.

In many cases, porcelains crowns and bridges can be covered under dental insurance. Though dental implants are often not covered by dental insurance, coverage under your medical plan my be a possibility depending on the cause of your tooth loss or tooth damage.

A chipped or damaged front tooth in need of repair, or any mouth damage requiring cosmetic dentistry, may be provided for under your general medical insurance or a workman’s compensation plan, depending on the nature of your injury.

Occasionally, if your dental plan includes orthodontic coverage, it may be possible for you to receive some insurance help in covering the cost of porcelain veneers. If you are in need of replacement porcelain veneers because yours have deteriorated, this is often possible under many dental insurance plans.
