Drs. Rick Kline and Bret David describe Lumineers as restorations that can provide a disguise for less-than-perfect teeth in the smile. These restorations are best used for the anterior teeth, otherwise known as the teeth near the front of the mouth that are seen when patients laugh, speak, or smile. Imperfections on these teeth may be covered with a Lumineer, which is a thin porcelain restoration that is bonded onto the front of the teeth to change its appearance.
Lumineers are an alternative to more traditional porcelain veneers, but have a few added benefits. Lumineers do not require that the natural tooth enamel be filed down to prepare for placement in the same way porcelain veneers do. Instead, they are bonded right in place without disrupting the natural tooth underneath. Additionally, Lumineers can also be removed at a later time if patients decide on a different treatment down the line. This allows for flexibility when it comes to improving the appearance of the smile.
Lumineers are more of a cosmetic treatment. They do not protect the teeth from damage due to tooth decay or periodontal disease. This is why it is important for patients to visit their dentist regularly for cleanings and examinations to ensure that the tooth underneath the veneer is still healthy and strong.
Enhance the appearance of your smile quickly and easily with reversible Lumineers. We welcome patients in and around the community of Sugarland, TX to book a consultation appointment with Drs.
